    Speakers

    Linda Laskowski-Jones, MS, APRN, ACNS-BC, CEN, NEA-BC, NREMT, FAWM, FAAN

    Linda Laskowski-Jones is the Editor-in-Chief of Nursing for Wolters Kluwer. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Delaware where she completed the Clinical Nurse Specialist track in Medical-Surgical Nursing and earned a Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Administration. Her professional nursing experience spans decades of clinical nursing, advanced practice, education, and leadership roles in emergency and trauma nursing. Linda is a longstanding volunteer member of the National Ski Patrol and patrols at Pennsylvania’s Blue Mountain Ski area where she received the "Purple Merit Star" for saving a human life, and recognition by the National Ski Patrol for excellence in emergency care. She is an Outdoor Emergency Care instructor through the National Ski Patrol, a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine through the Wilderness Medical Society, a Wilderness Life Support for the Medical Professional instructor, and the executive director of the Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine. Linda received the 2015 Warren Bowman Award from the Wilderness Medical Society in recognition of accomplishment and professional commitment to service to the Society. She also received the Founder’s Award from the Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine in 2015 for outstanding service. Linda serves on the Publication Committee of the Wilderness Medical Society and is a member of the Search and Rescue Clinical Practice Guidelines Subcommittee.

    Jason Muise, RN-BSN, CEN, FAWM, DiMM

    Major Jason Muise is a Registered Nurse in the United States Army.  Jason completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Clemson University and the U.S. Army Emergency and Critical Care Nursing Course at Brooke Army Medical Center, the DoD’s only Level I Trauma Center and Burn Center.  He is a board certified Emergency Nurse and a recipient of the internationally recognized Diploma in Mountain Medicine, denoting expertise in high-altitude medicine, rescue, and expedition medical planning.  Jason is also a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. Jason also holds a Master of Operational Studies from the US Army Command and General Staff College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas.  Other career highlights include one deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), multiple deployments in support of military exercises in Southeast Asia, and service as an Expedition Medic in both Argentina and Alaska.
     
    Jason’s career interests cover the delivery of world-class medicine from the foxhole to the fixed facility.  Jason has lectured locally on a wide range of topics covering prolonged field care, austere trauma management, and wilderness medicine.  Jason is an active member of the Wilderness Medical Society, Emergency Nurses Association, the American Mountain Guides Association, and the Special Operations Medical Association.
     
    Jason is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada where he is currently exploring and photographing the American Southwest.  He enjoys climbing, skiing, diving, sailing, mountain biking, and traveling.  Jason has visited dozens of countries around the world spanning six of the seven continents.
