Opportunity
to Publish
The Wilderness Medical Society invites submissions to our
journal Wilderness & Environmental
Medicine (WEM) from authors who want to take
advantage of our established publication's unique scope,
wide readership, and international recognition in the field
of wilderness medicine.
WEM is the quarterly medical journal
of the Society's peer-reviewed
publication dedicated to wilderness medicine topics. In
2008, WEM began its 17th year. Its audience is a diverse group of
medical and and allied health professionals who choose
WEM as their primary wilderness medical resource.
WEM receives cutting edge manuscripts from around the globe.
Each is reviewed by a panel of the Journal's peer
reviewers. The
Editorial Board
represents an international
group of renowned experts whose focus is on the many aspects
of wilderness medicine. With its full-text online access,
WEM is even more
accessible to its supportive readership and medical investigators.
Visit the Journal at www.wemjournal.org.
This link will take you to Author
Instructions.
You'll find descriptions
on manuscript categories, how to format your paper, what
goes on your title page, digital file requirements for
figures, and a copyright release form that is required prior
to publication.
When your manuscript is ready to submit
to Wilderness & Environmental Medicine, go to:

and click on the link for new authors.
Authors who do not have
internet access may continue to submit their papers to
Managing Editor Jonna Barry at
jonna@wms.org. The editorial staff will place the paper
into the online system, so the authors still benefit from
its streamlined review an editorial process. Those authors
should
follow this link for WEM instructions for authors including a checklist to help
prepare the manuscript for submission and an authorship
agreement.
WEM Offers
Web-based Manuscript
Submission and Peer Review
AllenTrack, our online submission and peer review program,
makes WEM
journal more efficient, accommodating, and accessible to
authors and peer reviewers worldwide. We join many other
scientific journals in becoming all electronic – submitted,
reviewed, and edited in electronic formats. Online manuscript
submission and peer review streamlines the editorial
process and shorten publication time, making papers
in both electronic format and hardcopy format available much
more quickly to our worldwide readership.
CMEs for Peer Reviewers!
Beginning January 1,
2007, WEM
is pleased to offer, 3 category
one (1) CME PRA

of the calendar year, for each manuscript
