National Public Lands Day
The 17th annual National Public Lands Day (NPLD), which celebrates our public lands, will be on September 25th this year. Exercise the opportunity to act as stewards of the earth and enjoy the abundance of natural resources available. NPLD is a nationwide volunteer opportunity to help all citizens reconnect and give back to their natural surroundings.
Last year, 150,000 volunteers participated at over 2,000 locations on projects that ranged from picking up trash to creating new trails. “Public land” is everywhere - whether it is a small playground downtown or Denali National Park, each American has ownership of it and should take pride in it. The size and scope of the land, natural resources, and adventure activities is immense. And, public lands are available for all people to enjoy – in every community.
