Jonathan Waterman
With objectivity and scientific credibility, renowned
adventurer, author and filmmaker, Jonathan Waterman,
will present the compelling story of his discoveries
as a National Geographic Society grantee
in the Arctic. Jon will eloquently share his journey
– trekking, rafting, and kayaking through the Arctic
Refuge – weaving it together with a short film,
artful photography, and science that shows how
climate is changing in the embattled North.

Your Profession with your Passion
Luanne Freer, MD
Dr. Freer’s Everest is Mt. Everest! Through stunning
photography and video of her clinic in action, Luanne
will take you on a journey from Yellowstone to the Himalayas
and her Everest “ER.” Her story exemplifies
how one defines a personal passion, develops a partnership
between profession and passion, and shows
how that process can keep anyone in any profession
happy, stimulated and productive.

Ranch Institute; Distinguished Professor, Zuckerman
College of Public Health, University of Arizona
Dr. Carmona traveled the world during his tenure as
Surgeon General. He will share his perspective and
insights as well as his concerns, prognosis and hope
for this planet’s inhabitants in the 21st century.

(one ticket included in registration fee; additional
tickets $55 ea)
This promises to be fun, hilarious and heartwarming
all at once. You’ll get to walk down memory
lane at this black tie formal event. But if you’re not
the tux and sequins type (as a few of us are not!)
you may choose the option to come in costume
- dressed as your favorite wilderness character, injury,
disease or animal. Paul Auerbach is already
putting the finishing touches on his!
