THE 2012 EVEREST EXPERIENCE

The Wilderness Medical Society and our prestigious Nepal partner, Peak Promotion, invite you to join us for the ultimate CME adventure during the April-May 2012 climbing season. Together, we are able to offer you a well-priced, educational, all encompassing Khumbu Valley-Everest experience!

Who: Everyone is welcome, though there are several basic requirements:

Each participant MUST:

• join the WMS or be an existing member.
• provide a copy of passport for WMS to keep on file.
• complete the WMS Everest Application & Fitness Questionaire.
• provide evidence of Evacuation and Medical insurance coverage.
• provide evidence of Trip Interruption/Cancellation insurance.

What: Due to on-going demand for “adventure, hands-on” wilderness medicine training and experience, the WMS has put together this world-class program. This course offers the opportunity for continuing medical education while on an Everest base camp (EBC) trek, plus for those more climbing oriented, we offer a Camp 2, Camp 4 or full summit opportunity. WMS CME credit is available from Kathmandu to Everest base camp, and we are planning on two nights at EBC (not normally offered for Everest treks) in cooperation with Everest ER.

When:
The summit bid will begin March 22, 2012 and Camp 4 group(s) will depart on April 9. For the standard EBC trek or Camp 2, various dates are available for April and May 2012. See the schedule for start date options.

Where: Khumbu Valley, Nepal

Why: Because you asked for it! An amazing, once-in-a-lifetime wilderness medicine travel adventure! Check out this live webcam!
