The Wilderness Medical Society offers Continuing Medical
Education programs in wilderness medicine that are relevant
for both the private sector and the military. The WMS faculty
has developed expertise through research and clinical experience,
including field experience. Join us at a conference for
both professional and personal growth.
The
Fellowship program for the Academy of Wilderness
Medicine (FAWM) is an initiative that offers a way to
identify those who have achieved a demanding set of requirements.
It validates their training in Wilderness Medicine for the
assurances of patients, clients, and the public at large.
Society
members may enroll in the Academy's Registry of Wilderness
Medicine Practitioners and, by completing lessons from a
pre-established, 100-hour, Wilderness Medicine curriculum,
accumulate credit toward becoming a Fellow.
Any
current member of the Wilderness Medical Society who successfully
completes the requirements will have the distinction of
being a registered member of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine
and entitled to use the designation Fellow of the Academy
of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) and may reference it on resumes,
business cards, and advertisements. The program is open
to all WMS member categories and can be started at any
time. Visit
this link to find out more and to register.
