After graduating as a respiratory therapist from Mt. San Antonio College in 1977, Loren received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Redlands, CA, in 1982. Subsequently, he was awarded a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 1996 and a PhD in Management California Coast University in 1998. Serving as Administrative Director of the Pulmonary/Critical Division at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT, he directed 40 Investigator, Government and Pharma funded research trials providing Loren considerable experience in leadership and organizational behavior. As an avid wilderness adventurer, trip organizer, lecturer, WMS board member and FAWM director, he has been fortunate to be able to combine his Profession (Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine) with his Passion (Wilderness Medicine) in a very enjoyable, effective way.

Teri
Howell
Administrative Director

Teri keeps all of us organized and fits all the pieces together! She
joined us from the Granite School District in Salt Lake City where she served
as an administrative assistant for over 18 years. Besides keeping everything running smoothly in our main office, Teri coordinates interaction with our members, partners and affiliates.

Jonna Barry
Managing Editor

Jonna is the managing editor for the
society's quarterly journal, Wilderness & Environmental
Medicine, the quarterly magazine, Wilderness
Medicine, and the WMS Educational Lecture
Series. Her degree is from the University of
Northern Colorado. She has been a technical writer, textbook and fiction editor, an advertising
copywriter, a paralegal for copyrights and patents, and for
18 years was editorial services manager and senior writer for a leading
producer of greeting cards, books, and calendars. Jonna has
been with the Society since 1999.

Jim Ingwersen
Information Technology

Jim provides our IT services including web hosting
& design, database maintenance and technical support through
his company, CCI Systems, Inc., in Colorado
Springs, Colorado. Jim
founded CCI in 1987 after eight years working as a hydrologist
for the U.S. Forest Service and city of Portland, Oregon
and has worked with the WMS since 1998. He has a Bachelors
in Forest Watershed Management and Masters Degree in Earth
Resources from Colorado State University. Jim is
a certified Microsoft professional, avid outdoorsman, cyclist,
runner, and pilot. He also enjoys teaching classes in
Environmental Science, Geology and Biology for the University
of Phoenix.
